  2. Paragraph of the Week: Write a paragraph explaining the following quote: “Kindness is a language the deaf can hear and the blind can see.” -Mark Twain DIRECTIONS: Answer one (or more) of the questions below. Use R.A.C.E. Complete bubble map. Responses must be no less than 50 words.

a. Explain the meaning of the quote in your own words.

b. What is the kindest thing anyone has done for you? What is the kindest thing you have done for someone?

c. How can we spread more kindness? What are some things that you and your classmates can do to spread kindness?

d. Do you think it’s important for our leaders and role models to show kindness toward others? Why or why not?

Monday, January 30, 2017: Students will complete warm up over grammar and figurative language and add figurative language notes into their IAN. Begin reading “Number the Stars” by Lois Lowry (chapter 1).

 

Tuesday January 31, 2017:  Students will complete warm up over grammar and figurative language and add vocabulary notes into their IAN.Read “Number the Stars.” (chapters 3-4)

 

Wednesday February 1, 2017: Students will complete warm up over grammar and figurative language and add characterization notes into their IAN. Read “Number the Stars.” (chapters 5-6)

 

Thursday February 2, 2017: Students will complete warm up over grammar and figurative language and add characterization notes into their IAN. Read “Number the Stars.” (chapters 7-8)

 

Friday February 3, 2017: Students will complete warm up over grammar and complete Lesson 1 from Coach book (Milestone practice). Quiz over Number the Stars chapters 1-8.
