Essential Question: What are editorials? How do I prepare to write my own editorial piece? What websites are credible?

Students are to read a selected editorial and answer the following questions.
1. What is the author’s claim?
2. What are some reasons the author has for his or her claim?
3. What evidence does the author give to support his or her reasons? (Hint: look for numbers, facts, figures, statistics, as well as websites and organizations).
4. Write down unfamiliar vocabulary from the article.
5. Write a summary of the article (5-6 sentences).
6. Create a poster on the article containing the answers to 1-5, as well as a visual of your article.
